Sen. Byron Dorgan’s Tribal Law & Order Act now has 12 sponsors, including Baucus, Tester & Biden. It falls well short of a full restoration of sovereignty over criminal jurisdiction, but given the epidemic of white-on-native violence, at this point anything is better than nothing, at least for a start.
