My Infamy Spreads

A little late, but here is another article from the Tahlequah Daily Press wherein my wisdom is sought, this time on the superdelegate question. Read and be amazed.

  1. “The U.S. government is a republic, not a democracy,” said Becker. “Article 4, Section 4, of the Constitution guarantees a republican form of government – to protect us against democracy and dictatorship. But now we face the threat of elite superdelegates taking away our republican right to elect our own leaders.”

Correct me if I am wrong, but is this guy nuts? Doesn’t the Constitution say nothing about primaries and how parties choose people? Or even parties themselves?

  2. You are not wrong. That is probably the weakest argument I have ever heard against the superdelegate system. Besides, let’s be honest, if the superdelegates were mostly leaning towards Obama, we wouldn’t hear word one about the “unfairness” of it all from his camp.
