Iraqi Elections

An overview of the recent Iraqi provincial elections.  Overall, they seem to suggest that secular parties are doing better (which should generally be good, though bear in mind that Saddam was thoroughly secular) and that al-Maliki is consolidating his power (which could be good or bad given his dictatorial tendencies and status as a toady for Iran).
