Saving the Land

Absolutely fascinating story of how the Tsilhqot’in Nation saved most of their traditional land in British Columbia after a prolonged court fight. While the legal status of Indians is different in Canada than in the United States, there are some sad similarities: extrajudicial killings, land theft, fraudulent treaties. Still, it’s hard to imagine any U.S. Judge being as respectful and accommodating of Indians as the trial judge was in this case.
