Gone But Never Forgotten

A friend reminded me that today is Molly Ivins’ birthday. If you’ve never read her stuff, either from The Texas Observer or her collected newspaper columns, you are missing out on the most trenchant political satirist since HL Mencken. Not a day goes by that I don’t see an item in the news, usually the kind of stupidity and pomposity she loved to skewer, and think damn, I wish I could get her take on this!

Thanks for everything, Molly. You were one of a kind.
