Let’s Hear It For The Rainbow Tour!

Romney looks into Netanyahu’s soul.  Or maybe not.  Then he manages to insult the Palestinians AND fall back on hoary old Jewish stereotypes.  And finally, he  works in some praise for Israel’s healthcare system.  Which includes an individual mandate.  I’m starting to suspect that maybe, just maybe, Romney’s not acting when he comes across as an arrogant, entitled, clueless twit.

UPDATE:  And the hits just keep on coming.  Know how to tell when you’re WINNING?  Your aide can’t even keep from losing his shit with the bootlicking, subservient American political press.

UPDATE 2:  Solidarity, the Polish labor union that sparked the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe, doesn’t like Mitt either.

Poor Deluded Brits Don’t Realize They Live In A Socialist Hellhole

Insist on celebrating evil socialist Nazi national health death panels.  If only they lived in a paradise like America where the victims of violent crime must rely on charity…

Rick Perry: Still A Piece of Shit (but with good hair)

It does not surprise me in the slightest that Perry has decided to further brutalize 1.2 million working poor Texans by “proudly” refusing expanded Medicare funds.  In fact, the only thing that surprises me is that he didn’t beat Bobby Jindal to the punch.  Still, it does add to an already fascinating speculation on just what, exactly, Perry has in place of a human soul:  bullshit?  Aqua Velva?  His secret collection of back-issue GQ?  The mind reels.

“I give THIS much of a shit about you working class peasant mo-fo’s”

So What Happens Now?

Obamacare will destroy the private for-profit health insurance industry, ushering in a new Utopian age of single-payer healthcare (last heard as a Right Wing conspiracy theory);

The for-profit healthcare industry will prevent the Republic Party from undoing Obamacare, even if they win the White House and Congress.

Boehner to People With Preexisting Conditions: DROP DEAD

I don’t know why this would surprise anyone, but the Republics aren’t the least bit interested in “replacing” Obamacare. All they are interested in is killing it, including all the provisions that keep insurance companies from screwing you. If you vote Republic this November, you are voting to allow insurance companies to continue screwing you. It’s as simple as that.

Cue Right Wing Head Explosions in 3…2…1…

I was never a huge fan of Barack Obama, finding him politically amateurish and naive and far too willing to cave-in. I was never a fan of the Affordable Care Act, which struck me as a kludge that basically amounted to a bribe to the private insurance industry that has been feasting on human misery for decades. I have to say, though, I’m REALLY enjoying all the Right Wing wailing, rending of garments of gnashing of teeth.

You may have your own favorites. I’m sure there are plenty more out there and more yet to come.

UPDATE: A compilation of hysterical RW overreaction from Slate

Republican Healthcare Plan Upheld By Supreme Court

In a stunning victory for Mitt Romney, a narrowly and bitterly divided US Supreme Court today upheld his controversial signature legislation, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Here’s another question for you: given that Attorney General Greg Abbott is such a staunch proponent of tort reform and so opposed to frivolous lawsuits, will he now reimburse the tax payers of Texas for all the money he wasted opposing the Affordable Care Act?  And suing the EPA?  And supporting the Arizona immigration law?  I’ll get right to holding my breath waiting for that to happen.

Your Liberal Media At Work

John Adams: Socialist

In 1798, Congress mandated that civilian sailors (not in the US Navy) purchase health insurance.  In 1798.  Passed by a Congress composed of the Founding Fathers.  Just tossing that out there.  The same law, incidentally, created the United States Public Health Service, an organization that employs (among others) my fiancée and which was slandered during the debate over health care reform as “Obama’s private army.
