Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

Nate Silver, the man who introduced math to political polling, is giving the Republicans a slight edge to control the Senate in 2015. I can see one of two results if that happens: one, we get two more years like the last four of gridlock and political impotence; two, the Loony Wing is ascendant and we see impeachment hearings. In either event, I suspect the party will be short-lived and will end with Hillary Clinton pounding Ted Cruz or Rand Paul in 2016.

So, Turns Out Georgia Republican Senate Candidates Are Pretty Much All Insane

They are evidently in a race to out-Ted Cruz/Ted Nugent each other.

A Whole Lotta Nothing

Harry Reid cements his reputation as the most useless majority leader in Senate history.

There Is Power In the Blood

A good concise article about “Indian blood”.

Elizabeth Warren receives the US Senate nomination at the Massachusetts Democratic Convention.

This is a golden opportunity for Warren to address this issue, apologize for offending Indians (and not just Cherokee), and get on with the important business of cleaning Scott Brown’s clock.  Ms. Warren, I really REALLY want you to win this race but you are playing right into the hands of your opponents, not to mention coming off as untrustworthy and insensitive.

UPDATE:  Esquire has a decent run-down on this self-inflicted political wound.

UPDATE 2:  Another viewpoint, this time from Crooks & Liars

In a bizarre twist, there are now Warren supporters accusing her Cherokee accusers of being Republican operatives, affiliated with  That’s insane, for a number of reasons.  First, I know several of those Cherokee and they are either liberal or non-political.  Second, I know for a fact that Polly’s Granddaughter hadn’t even heard of the late and unlamented Breitbart until I mentioned to her that he was a Right Wing hack and notorious liar.  She didn’t have anything whatsoever to do with until they started running stories of Warren’s fake Cherokee heritage.  As bad as the racist attacks have been from the Right Wing, it’s even more discouraging to see liberals stoop to this level.

Why Does Chief Justice Roberts Hate America?

Notorious radical Left-Wing socialist John Roberts demands patriotic God-fearing Republicans stop obstructing the Kenyan Muslim Nazi traitor’s judicial nominees, who will force all white people to get gay-married to illegal aliens under Sharia law.

Of course, Roberts falls for the old “everyone does it” meme, but still.

Calling Them On It

Before we break our arms patting the Senate on the back over DADT repeal, watch Cong. Anthony Weiner (D-New York) put the Senate on notice to pass the 9-11 First Responders bill before the Christmas break.  I reiterate my position that any member of Congress, House or Senate, who refuses to not only vote for this bill but actively push for its passage is a cowardly douche-bag who deserves to be publicly flogged.  Opposing this bill for some sort of twisted procedural advantage is even worse!  MAN UP, SENATE!

Class Warfare in Delaware?

An interesting (and somewhat sympathetic) take on the Christine O’Donnell candidacy and what it reveals about the advantages the GOP has by actively recruiting and training new activists and leaders from sources other than economic elites.

This Just In:

Democrats do, in fact, have balls.

And Republicans do, in fact, fold like origami when called on their bullshit.

Further updates as events warrant.

Republicans Are STILL Wall Street’s Trained Poodles

The entire Republican Senatorial caucus votes against even allowing debate to begin on financial reform, despite 2/3rds of the country demanding stricter controls on the financial aristocrats who drove the economy into the ditch (and nearly over the cliff).  So, to sum up, when Obama pushes for something he campaigned yet public opinion remains divided, that is tyranny, fascism, unconstitutional, unprecedented, Communist, blah blah blah.  When Republicans oppose something supported by 2/3rds of the country, that is…what?  Patriotism?

Getting the Word Out

A new Kaiser Poll indicates that support for healthcare reform is still stronger as individual parts than it is as a whole and that the public in general still feels uninformed about the issue.  This might have something to do with 12 straight months of insane propaganda against the bill and very little effort by the MSM to objectively explain what was in it.  It also suggests that Democrats are better served by getting out and explaining the benefits of HCR instead of just fighting against the Monster Raving Loony Party’s conspiracy theorizing and fear-mongering.  So far, voting for HCR seems to have helped House Democrats raise money, if nothing else.  And what could compare to hearing Sue Lowden (MRLP running against Harry Reid in Nevada) advocate paying your healthcare bill with live chickens?
