Breach of Trust

In a stunning victory, the federal judge overseeing the Cobell Trust Lawsuit has agreed with the plaintiffs that a historical accounting of the Indian land trust is “impossible,” though he cited as the reason Congress’ refusal to adequately fund the needed work. Wampum sees Tom DeLay’s fingerprints on this, an effort to prevent anyone from finding out that Big Energy, with the connivance of the Federal government, has expropriated billions of dollars worth of Indian Country. As one editorial put it, “In plain writing, the District of Columbia U.S. Court decision criticizes Interior for mismanaging more than $100 billion in oil, gas, timber and other royalties held in trust from Indian lands dating back to 1887.” Hopefully, lead plaintiff Eloise Cobell (Blackfeet) is right to, “look forward to Judge Robertson’s scheduling of a hearing ‘determining an appropriate remedy’ in light of their failure to render the court-ordered accounting.”

Craddick Beats House Into Submission

Craven Republicans beg for mercy from their newly re-annointed Dread Overlord as he is carried into the Royal Chamber on a golden litter borne by 14 stout Democratic bootlickers. Once again, from the Dick Cheney White House, to Tom DeLay, to Tom Craddick, we see very clearly what it takes to be a Republican today: have your spine removed and become a lickspittle minion. That rumbling sound you hear? That’s Abraham Lincoln spinning in his grave at the transformation of the GOP into a gang of cowardly, toadying sycophants. Pathetic.

Making a Difference!

Instant lame-duck Congresswoman Shelley Sekula-Gibbs, in the finest tradition of Kay Bailey Hutchinson and the killer notebook, manages to annoy Tom DeLay’s staff so much they quit en masse. And now she wants them investigated for deleting records. Maybe they also know where the “W” keys from all the White House keyboards went…

Seriously, though, how bad do you to be if TOM DELAY‘s staff thinks you’re “mean”?

Steal This Seat!

Justice Scalia denies the GOP’s request for a stay; DeLay is now good and stuck. It now becomes a moral imperative that we open a can of electoral beat-down on this vicious, unprincipaled, bloodthirsty little tin dictator with a bad hairpiece. Give Nick Lampson some love.

DeLay STILL Stuck

The Republican campaign against democracy suffered another setback today as a three judge panel of the Fifth Circuit ruled that the GOP cannot remove a candidate from the ballot just because he is less popular than a case of the clap. Vowing to fight these “activist judges” who insist on enforcing the “liberal notion” that voters should pick candidates, the Republican Party of Texas is appealing to the US Supreme Court. Justice Scalia has been assigned to the case, and of course he is well known for his fidelity to will of the voters in free elections.

Tom DeLay, the Focus of Evil In the Modern World

In the latest installment of “insane power-mad theatre” we find Tom DeLay ordering Cong. Sam Johnson (last seen hysterically screaming insults at fellow Vietnam veteran John Kerry) to sic the IRS on Texans for Public Justice, a special interest group that has dared to displease the Emperor Tom.
