Wow, Who Could’ve Possibly Foreseen?

Evidently, behaving like a bunch of self-absorbed assholes is not all that popular.  To say nothing of being utter hypocrites.

Ted Cruz’s Magical World of Make-Believe

“I intend to speak in opposition to Obamacare, I intend to speak in support of defunding Obamacare, until I am no longer able to stand.”

If it’s until no one can stand him any longer, it’ll be a much shorter speech…

To The Surprise of No One…

When can Harry Reid get one of these installed?

When can Harry Reid get one of these installed?

...Harry Reid (D-Spineless) manages to find a way to surrender. Good Lord, but he is the absolute most incompetent pitiful excuse for a Majority Leader the Senate has ever seen. Why can he not take “victory” for an answer?

Everyone Hates Ted Cruz, Part 2

Even Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) hates Ted Cruz (Tea Party-Ontario). This, combined with the incredible unpopularity of Cruz’s kamikaze strategy, indicates to me that’s he’s EXACTLY the sort of bold leadership Republicans need to nominate in 2016.

UPDATE: Ted Cruz has now officially snatched the Krazy Krown from Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK). And let me tell you something, you’ve got to be working pretty damned hard to be crazier than Tom Coburn…

Everyone Hates Ted Cruz

Even, perhaps especially, House Republicans. You should really, really, read these tweets. They are comedy gold. Evidently being a smug, self-righteous prick with all the political skill of a constipated rhino in a china shop does not endear you to the colleagues you are so earnestly attempting to throw under the bus. Who knew?

Boehner vs. Cruz: Douchebagmageddon

Ted Cruz is well on his way towards cementing his title as not only the biggest douchebag currently serving in Congress, but the biggest douchebag to ever serve (though he still has stiff competition from Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms). And now John Boehner (the most politically impotent douchebag in Congress) is calling him on his insane Kool-aid-besodden dream of shutting down the government in order to “defund” Obamacare.

Rick Perry: Still A Piece of Shit (but with good hair)

It does not surprise me in the slightest that Perry has decided to further brutalize 1.2 million working poor Texans by “proudly” refusing expanded Medicare funds.  In fact, the only thing that surprises me is that he didn’t beat Bobby Jindal to the punch.  Still, it does add to an already fascinating speculation on just what, exactly, Perry has in place of a human soul:  bullshit?  Aqua Velva?  His secret collection of back-issue GQ?  The mind reels.

“I give THIS much of a shit about you working class peasant mo-fo’s”

So What Happens Now?

Obamacare will destroy the private for-profit health insurance industry, ushering in a new Utopian age of single-payer healthcare (last heard as a Right Wing conspiracy theory);

The for-profit healthcare industry will prevent the Republic Party from undoing Obamacare, even if they win the White House and Congress.

Cue Right Wing Head Explosions in 3…2…1…

I was never a huge fan of Barack Obama, finding him politically amateurish and naive and far too willing to cave-in. I was never a fan of the Affordable Care Act, which struck me as a kludge that basically amounted to a bribe to the private insurance industry that has been feasting on human misery for decades. I have to say, though, I’m REALLY enjoying all the Right Wing wailing, rending of garments of gnashing of teeth.

You may have your own favorites. I’m sure there are plenty more out there and more yet to come.

UPDATE: A compilation of hysterical RW overreaction from Slate

Republican Healthcare Plan Upheld By Supreme Court

In a stunning victory for Mitt Romney, a narrowly and bitterly divided US Supreme Court today upheld his controversial signature legislation, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Here’s another question for you: given that Attorney General Greg Abbott is such a staunch proponent of tort reform and so opposed to frivolous lawsuits, will he now reimburse the tax payers of Texas for all the money he wasted opposing the Affordable Care Act?  And suing the EPA?  And supporting the Arizona immigration law?  I’ll get right to holding my breath waiting for that to happen.
